Is creatine a good supplement for muscle building?

I was looking up the facts about creatine and deciding whether or not I should take it, but some sites stated that creatine has no effect on muscle building that it only adds the bulk by retaining water in the muscles, while others said ttha tit gave substatantial muscle gain. If creatine isn't a good supplement then what is?

  1. as long as you have protein in your system, creatine alone is the single best legal muscle building additive. normally you get it from red meat but not in the levels found from nutrition companies. creatine helps create ATP, which is basically pure energy used by the body. creatine, taken along with glutamine and nitric oxide is an even more powerful muscle building combination. there has been some research that shows long term excessive supplement levels could have detrimental effects but im not sure what new research has shown.
