Since Mr. al Megrahi has been framed? Why would the US and Britain lie to protect Iran or Syria?
Doesn't releasing him on "compassionate grounds" mean that he dies a convicted man, is this not also a ploy to get the true perpetrators off? Didn't Gordon Brown invoke the Anti-Terrorism Act (2001) to freeze all Icelandic assets in the UK? If its oil then why are the above trying incite a revolution in Iran, albeit by black ops?

- One word - oil.
- b/c money talks right or should i say oil?
- Yeah sure.... Megrahi was framed, you internet warriors need to get out more.
- Under Scottish law he was freed for compassionate reasons, why a tin pot American is shouting his mouth off I do not know, it is about time this country ignored what America wants look at the unfairness regarding the three bankers they had extradited under terrorism law for some thing that was nothing to do with truism. Also the idiot who hacked in to their computer system he committed the crime here he should be tried here. Americans supported the IRA terrorists for years with fund raising so to the head of the FBI get stuffed and keep your nose out of Scottish and UK affairs.
- Maybe they are lying to protect themselves This theory suggests that U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agents had set up a protected drug route from Europe to the United States—allegedly called Operation Corea—that allowed Syrian drug dealers, led by Monzer al-Kassar to ship heroin to the U.S. using Pan Am flights, in exchange for intelligence on Palestinian groups holding hostages in Syria. The CIA allegedly protected the suitcases containing the drugs and made sure they were not searched. On the day of the bombing, as the theory goes, terrorists exchanged suitcases: one with drugs for one with a bomb. Time introduced another version of this theory, claiming that the American intelligence officers on PA 103 – Matthew Gannon and Maj. Charles McKee – had found out about the drug operation, and were headed to Washington to raise their concerns about its impact on their hostage rescue plans
- I agree that Megrahi was framed and how dare America interfere when they supported the biggest terrorists in the world, the IRA. lol war on terror? did not happen when the IRA were bombing innocent people.
- Excuse me - do you mind not giving any credibility to that monster please ? The use of Mr. also used by that daft, inept sad sack Kenny MacAskell is totally inappropriate for a murderer.
- I assume you mean framed for the Lockerbie bombing. I completely disagree with that, i believe he did do it and he did it showing no remorse for any of the victims or their families. he is one sick human being who doesn't deserve to be let home never mind getting a hero's welcome, anyone who lives in Libya and went to that greeting should be ashamed of themselves, they are supporting terrorism and if you ask me libya should impose house arrest on this vile and disgusting man.
- Why don't some of you dumbasses actually read about the case and do some research before you say he did it instead of the lies you hear on the news. There's no clear evidence he did it. None! The trial was BS set up. They framed him.... Megrahi was not convicted by jury. He was convicted by judges on circumstantial evidence of dubious reliability.
