What does the German finance minister have against John Maynard Keynes?

Peter Steinbruck has criticized the American and British plans to prevent depression as "crass Keynesianism." Excuse me, but wasn't Mr. Keynes' brilliant ideas that saved Britain from the dark days of Great Depression? Or has the right wing so completely revised history that the sole heroes are Margaret Thatcher,Ronald Reagan, Ludwig von Mises, and the considerably abridged and misread Adam Smith?

1. there has been a right wing propaganda campaign to discredit keynes...and discredit FDR as well....... I mean come on...you know what I mean..if the right wing is saying we should be racing to the bottom and pay workers as little as possible, abolish unions, elinimate the minimum wage, do away with social security, allow as much slave laboring cheap labor to enter countries from poor countries to drive down wages and take jobs, give huge tax cuts to the richest people and the big corporations with as many tax loophole possibilities as possible, etc.....then it follows that they would oppose any ideology that says you have to take care of the middle class and help the people who are down and out.
2. The German Finance Minister is a very smart person--he knows as does most economists that a nation cannot spend its way into prosperity, which was a theory of Keynes.
