Is Great Britain proud of Mr/Mrs. Elton John's marriage then?

I may behind time but I just only came across a 'Cliff Richard' issue which contain Mars, Space, Aliens and Funfairs...funny people find so amusing criticizing a clean cut Sir Cliff but made him a target for humour. I think the British have more disgusting yet concerning issues about legalizing she-husbands marriages to He-wives??? We have laws like bigamy, and of God's on adultery, and a prominent religion representing a nation, how could a marriage of such be allowed?

1. Britain is a secular nation. Bronze Age tribal marriage customs, as recorded in the Bible, are irrelevant.

3. It's not, legally, a marriage: it's a civil partnership. And I for one think it's a damn good thing. If people are going to spend their lives together, buy houses together, be each other's No 1 person, it's irrational and unfair that they shouldn't be allowed to formalise that relationship and become legally each other's partner and next of kin. I'm proud that my country has enacted a law allowing them to do this.
4. Equality should be for everyone, not just for the majority. You should be ashamed of yourself for not wanting everyone to have all the same right. Funny when it comes to taxes nobody seems to mind taking money from the gays then. If you want our tax money, then we want the same rights as everyone else. Not just some of them.
5. Are you American? If so, you probably won't understand this, but Britain is secular, ie non-religious. Nobody cares what some god somewhere in the sky said over here, and although Christianity is the official religion, there are hardly any true Christians. They just go to church at Christmas. If our leaders ie Prime Minister were heard talking like your presidents do about their love of god, they would be denounced as nutters. And as to whether we're proud of their marriage, it's not like we say "Oh yes, they are such a perfect couple and should be the figurehead of our nation". Why should we be proud of a marriage/civil partnership, be it straight/gay etc? It's a private event between two people, not a big national celebration like the Olympics. It's like saying "are you proud that Charles married Diana?"...wtf?! It's just a marriage!
6. my question is if british is so great how come they allow these closed minded idiots to live?? how is it hurting YOU if two men that you have never met and will NEVER meet get married?? How is it effecting YOUR marriage if two women on the other side of the country got married?? How is it effecting YOUR life, if two people that you dont know fall in love? and dont you dare start preaching the bible, cos the stuff written about homosexuals was all in the old testement THE SAME TESTEMENT THAT SAYS THE DISABLED WILL BURN IN HELL!!, THE SAME TESTEMENT THAT SAYS IF A MAN RAPES A WOMAN ITS OK AS LONG AS HE MARRIES HER AFTER! all "words" about homosexuality is taken out of context, when they destroyed solmon they destroyed it not because of the homosexuals, they destroyed it because it was full of the wealthy and the greedy that never shared their riches with the poor and needy etc etc not once did it actually say homosexuals! (infact if your bible actually says the word homosexual id throw it away as the word was not even created until the 1800's) no one bothers to read the full bible, read it page for page, and dont just read it, study it eat breath and live it get bibles in arabic and translate them and you will find that everything is translated differently! do it and see, contact me in 4 years when im satified that after studying it day in and day out that you might catch the jist.
7. We Brits dont really care about Elton and David But my own marriage, now that was something to talk about.
